THE EMOJI DIET GUIDELINE

The point of this page is to help everyone find a starting point in eating better and to provide everyone a guide to help them discover a diet that works for them, to the end of discovering a more joyful and healthy lifestyle.

A good diet changes more than just one’s weight. It changes your energy level and your attitude, according to many well-versed nutrition experts like Drew Ramsey, MD[1]. Our spiritual lives, emotional lives, relationships, self-pride, and more all in some way depend on how we eat. So without all the 4 to 6 years of nutrional or bio-chemical studies, it’s important to still know how we should eat in order to better our lives. So let’s keep it simple on what you should or should not eat with the emoji diet[2].

A GOOD DIET CHANGES MORE THAN JUST ONE’S WEIGHT.

First, it’s important to avoid “The Frowny FiveD=

  1. BREAD
  2. RICE
  3. PASTA
  4. STARCH
  5. SUGAR

Next, we need to get a balanced intake of our “Smiley Six”   =D

  1. EGGS
  2. DAIRY
  3. FRUIT
  4. VEGGIES
  5. NUTS
  6. MEATS

Okay, now for those who care past simple lists, here’s why this diet works. Bread, rice, pasta, and sugar are all chuck full of carbs, which trains our bodies to look for simple energy and not burn off fat[3]. Also, these carbs contribute to our body over-producing glucose and storing glycogen[4]. Storing glycogen is ultimately what causes things like depression and a loss of energy. It also makes you a “fatty” eventually. Starch is the lesser evil of “The Frowny Five” but starches are a filler food and is ultimately in part converted to glycogen in the liver as well, then to body fat[5].

HAVING GOOD FAT IN OUR DIETS CAUSES OUR BODY TO BURN ITS OWN FAT, AS WELL.

The “Smiley Six” is useful for quite the opposite reason. Eggs, dairy, nuts, and meats all are high in fat and proteins. Having good fat in our diet causes our body to burn its own body fat, as well[6]. Besides helping us lose fat to look like “Mr.” OR “Mrs. Sexy Pants”, having fat in our diet helps regulate when our liver uses stored glycogen for energy and thus leads to less depression and more energy (this also helps with stress)[7]. Glycogen has no use without the protein it needs to break down to produce said energy[8]. Fruits and veggies provide the little bit of carbs we need to upkeep the storing of glycogen to a minimum. These foods also provide vitamins and fiber we need to live happy healthy lives! =D

THIS GUIDELINE WAS PUT TOGETHER BY THE HELP AND RESEARCH OF A NUTRITION STUDENT, A NURSING STUDENT, A BIOCHEMISTRY STUDENT, A NUTRITION PROFFESSOR, AND A PROFFESONAL DIETICIAN.

[1] She does a few posts on this subject on Huffington Post and other websites, for those who care to look up the science behind this statement, which should be us all, in my opinion.

[2] This diet plan only works as a general GUIDELINE not as a set of rules, do more research than just this, PLEASE! (Look up the benefits of lower-carb diets or read GENOCIDE! By James E Carlson! Or both!!!!)
